Learning and curiosity never get old! This is our motto at OLLI. We are the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UTEP. Our mission is to keep a community of people over the age of 50 engaged and active through continuing education, social activities and volunteerism. Our goal is to enhance the enjoyment, meaning and direction of mature lives. OLLI is an aging group of people still thriving, learning and caring for those around us. Our members tell us they come for the intellectual stimulation of the courses and activities, and stay for the people. Our OLLI relies on the participation of its community of members and students. We would like to reach more people in the border region and can do this with your support. There are many moving parts to OLLI. So, we are reaching out to you for financial support to sustain and grow our programming.
We have learned that resiliency does not age with us. We will continue to move forward with new ideas, feed curiosity in meaningful ways and keep people connected to keep loneliness at bay. Testimonials tell us that OLLI’s value grows with each new and returning student.
Mike Halpin, long-time OLLI member shares:
“OLLI has a great environment and staff…makes me feel young again.”
David Varela, OLLI Instructor, shares:
“OLLI has without a doubt been absolutely amazing. I love helping my community learn about their city and people- one student at a time. Teaching here has been truly phenominal.”
According to Suzie Currey, one of OLLI’s newest members:
“[It’s a] community of lifelong learners, of friends in a fun and engaging environment! We are inspired to be creative in our various interests...”
Your support is meaningful to the people who join OLLI. Please donate. By the way…if you are over the age of 50 or know someone that can benefit from OLLI’s program, they are welcome to be a part of OLLI. Thank you for your support!
