The Chihuahuan Desert Gardens celebrates its 25th anniversary this fall! As part of the celebration, the Centennial Museum is planning an exhibit that will advance the Garden’s mission to showcase the beauty of desert plants, to demonstrate to the community the benefits of bringing native plants into our landscapes, to provide a place of respite for UTEP students, faculty, and staff, and to help people reconnect to the desert we call home. Many people only think of creosote and cacti when asked about the desert, yet the Chihuahuan desert is home to more than 3000 species of plants! This exhibit will invite UTEP students and the El Paso community to commemorate the first 25 years of the Chihuahuan Desert Gardens and look towards the next 25.
