In celebration of our Centennial, we established the Woman’s Auxiliary of The University of Texas at El Paso Centennial Endowed Scholarship. UTEP is shaping the future for our students, and as it continues to grow, so must our commitment to providing scholarship support for deserving students ensuring outstanding educational opportunities.
We ask you to join us today, and “Raise Your Pick” to help reach our goal of $100,000 in honor of our 100 years of giving scholarships to hundreds of UTEP students.
THE HISTORY OF THE WOMAN’S AUXILIARY
The Woman’s Auxiliary of The University of Texas at El Paso has been an important source of support for the UTEP community for nearly 100 years. In the early years, they played a key role in the organization of the University band and provided financial support to cover the salary of the band instructor and band uniforms. Their contributions have expanded to provide academic and athletic scholarships, including both undergraduate and graduate students. Beyond scholarship support, they have provided funds for the University Library and have established four endowments. The Woman’s Auxiliary has also funded numerous other initiatives and needs the University has had over the years, including the El Paso Centennial Museum on campus in celebration of the Texas Centennial.
