At the UTEP Center for Community Engagement, we believe every person has the ability to create positive change. Through participation in our programs, individuals learn to live and practice servant leadership everyday to better serve their university, industry and community.
The CCE connects the resources of the university to help meet community priorities through maintaining healthy and mutually beneficial relationships with community partners. We do this through supporting volunteer efforts, critical community initiatives such as voter education, partnership development and more. Our Community Work-Study Mentorship and Internship program provides students experiencing financial need employment at community organizations, developing job skills while supporting area nonprofits.
When you make a gift to the CCE, you are supporting students like Jenna, who is a Junior studying Anthropology and is a Community Work-Study intern.
Your gift will also support students like Johana:
“I had a great time, doing my first hours as a volunteer. I learned much about how they do their work with their hearts, not expecting to have something back. I learned that volunteering at the Salvation Army makes you feel part of something bigger and how you see your contributions helping other people and making a difference in their lives.”
Johana Hermosillo Gutierrez
